The Tanner is cut generously and stitched honestly: oversized slab cushions in tan top-grain hide, with the seams worn on the outside like a maker's signature.

Top-grain hide is cut and built by hand, so allow roughly ±2cm.
Materials & make
Hide sourced from Australia, Brazil and Argentina, hand-cut and set over a kiln-dried hardwood frame. The same leather covers every surface of the piece, front and back. Built to patina and to last.
The frame. Solid hardwood, mortise-and-tenon joints with corner blocks, kiln-dried to 8 to 12 per cent moisture before a single cut.
Seat suspension. Serpentine sinuous springs across the seat base, over a non-woven fabric support, under high-resilience seat foam at 35 to 40kg per cubic metre. It is the arrangement that keeps a seat stable and holds its shape over years rather than seasons.

How do I care for top-grain leather?
Wipe with a dry cloth, condition it every few months and keep it out of direct sun. Top-grain hide is meant to patina and only gets better with age.
